He thought the factors including private ownership, the system of social class, noninterference and individuali, and so on, brought about the deeply rooted inequality in capitali society, and he tried to promote a new society full of equal principle guided by his political philosophy. The influence from Marxi’s world view and methodology, however, caused him to lay his hope on the way of reform, and his religious morali ge his thought a mist of subjective ideali. Therefore, there was always a tendency to compromise and to remain unclear.The paper analyzed Tawney’s research on history and economy which is the foundation of his theory, and generally revealed his political philosophy revolving around equality by searching Tawney’s moral philosophy and social philosophy. The paper also tried to evaluate his political philosophy by the norm of Marxi’s.This thesis is divided into the introduction, text and the tag three parts.
