Especially, the current strategy of“One-Circle, Two-Wings”has set necessary foundation for the modern logistics of our city, and put out more urgent requests and challenges as well.At present, the modern logistics of our city is slow in progress. High logistics cost has already weakened the outward-oriented economy. As such, accelerating the modern logistics not only meets the dire needs to adapt to the economic globalization and regional economic integration, but also is of comprehensive strategic importance to raising the quality and efficiency of economy, improving the investment environment, expanding openness internally and externally and building Chonqging into trade center and composite hub of communications on the upper-reaches of the Yangtze River.Comparing the logistics at home and abroad as well as the horizontal and vertical logistics development of out city, this article has analyzed the status quo and striking problems of Chongqing’s modern logistics development and come up with a conclusion. That is, Chongqing is an economic zone where industry is highly dependent on logistics services. Yet the whole logistics development of our city is still falling behind, on the underdeveloped level, that the high logistics demands of this area can not be met. To solve this problem, the countermeasures suggested by this article is that, to give full play to comprehensive transportation advantages in waterway, land and airway, energetically support port and harbor logistics, build three major logistics hub zones and eight regional logistics bases and several logistics distribution centers connected by network; to encourage manufacturing enterprises to adopt supply-chain management, guide the industrial and commercial enterprises to develop processing logistics business, fully develop the 3rd party logistics, complete the logistic internet/information platform, set up proper logistic regulation and standard in order to upgrade the level of professional and modern logistics. In addition, it is necessary to set up a group of big logistic enterprises, attract both well-known domestic and international logistic enterprises to help Chongqing logistic business get into domestic and international market. Eventually, it is expected that by the year 2015, Chongqing will become the logistic center with the longest projected ability, best match-up system, professional and social level on the upper reaches of the Yangtze river.Suggestions and countermeasures in the article are both theoretical and realistic to the development of logistics for many provinces, cities and districts, especially for the west regions in terms of upgrading the quality and effect of business operation and increasing the overall economy and competitiveness.
