The Global Chinese Student Union was a local and non-governmental education group which mainly handled the Chinese students studying abroad in modern times, and experienced transition stage from feudali monarchy to the republic.It had been existing for thirty-to-forty years until the Anti-Japanese War outburst. In the Republican period, it did a large amount of job in the education of studying abroad to promote the development of studying abroad motion forcefully, especially had dense relationship with studying in France. Studying in France by self-supporting through hard work is an important part of Studying Abroad Trend at the modern times. This organization helped many progressive youth to go to France. Therefore the Global Chinese Student Union has a distinguished position and significance in studying abroad history at the modern times especially in Studying in France Motion.In addition to the introduction and the conclusion, the article also includes the following four parts.Part One:Expounding the history evolution of the Global Chinese Student Union. This part is going to expound mainly the following aspects:the establishment reason, the establishment time, the establishment position, the establishment people, the establishment objective, the changes of the site of the conference and the final destiny of the Global Chinese Student Union. By ordering the organization’s history evolution, we are going to he the first understanding about the history of the Global Chinese Student Union.Part Two:Expounding the conference content and the activity characteristic of the Global Chinese Student Union. This part mainly introduces the organization institution, the conference content and the primary features. By use of collecting the history materials, we are showed the whole explanation of the above content considering every aspect efficiently and we can conclude the organization’s activity characteristics according to combine Chinese political and literary backgrounds.Part Three:Expounding the relationship between the Global Chinese Student Union and the study-abroad education in Chinese modern times. Based on the fact that the principal function of the Global Chinese Student Union is to serve for the students abroad, we he to talk about Work-Study Movement for France and the Boxer Indemnity-Studying in the U.S.A. Movement which were the accelerated by the Global Chinese Student Union. In this part, we are to analyze the contribution of the Global Chinese Student Union on the abroad education in China’s modern times by the example of the acceleration of the Work-Study Movement For France and the Boxer Indemnity-Studying in the U.S.A. Movement.Part Four:Expounding the contribution and the operation significance of the Global Chinese Student Union on the abroad education in China’s modern times. Based on the elaboration, we firstly summarize the contribution of the Global Chinese Student Union on the abroad education in modern times and the principal position in the education history. Then we are going to explain the operation significance, at present the study-abroad education institutions must learn from the history experience of the Global Chinese Student Union and think of their insufficiency. In short, learning the essences from the Global Chinese Student Union, we are sure to seek more excellent developments.
